The Flying Fleece

Colin Monk and Alex Mauro, owners of High Spirits Leisure Group have acquired a new venue in Ambleside, creating up to 20 new jobs and offering locals and tourists a quality ‘free house’ independent pub and restaurant.

Set within a historic mill, The Flying Fleece pays homage to the fulling mill’s history with its working waterwheel, which is also being refurbished. It will present a similar offering to their highly successful sister pub The Flying Pig in Bowness.

Colin Monk, CEO of High Spirits Leisure Group says “This is a big opportunity and move during a time of uncertainty for the hospitality industry, opportunities like this do not come along very often.”

A renovation is currently underway aiming to be open in July, this will bring the group to 7 venues between Windermere, Bowness, Coniston & now Ambleside employing close to 100 full and part-time staff, interviews are now taking place so please email [email protected] if you would like to apply for front of house and kitchen positions.
