Alleged stalker remanded in custody

Carlisle Magistrates Court

A CARLISLE man charged with an offence of “stalking” without fear/alarm or distress has appeared before magistrates sitting at the Rickergate Court House in Carlisle.

Daniel Jon Wallace, 31, gave his address as Pennine Way, Harraby, he was produced in court from police custody, the allegation relates to dates between May 1 and July 20.

The allegation is that Wallace pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of a female, turned up at the alleged victims address and let himself into the property and sent numerous message of an harassing nature.

When the charge was read out to Wallace he denied the allegation.

Peter Kelly prosecuting gave a short outline of the allegation, in that Wallace sent electronic messages to a the female known to him, placed a message on Facebook and drove past her home and “pipped” the horn.

Rachel Dixon defence lawyer told the magistrates her client denied these accusations.

Magistrates remanded Wallace in custody until July 28 when he will appear by video-link at the magistrates court, a trial date was set for September 8.
