Train operator TransPennine Express (TPE) has launched its Local Heroes campaign to give back to the communities and people it serves who have helped in the national effort against COVID-19.
The coronavirus pandemic has been a challenging time for everyone, but in times of adversity, there have been many heroes. TPE is looking for nominations from members of the public of those individuals who have gone above and beyond during these difficult times. Someone who has made a difference in their community and gone the extra mile to help those most in need.
To nominate a local Covid hero the public must head to TPE’s Facebook, Instagram or Twitter page and tag their nominee, explaining why they deserve to win. Nominations will then be shortlisted down to a top-four, where the public will vote on the ultimate winner.
The main winner will win a weekend away for two in York which includes attraction tickets, as well as accommodation. The three runners-up will win a day out for two with attraction tickets included for a city on TPE’s network.
Lilli Barański, Campaigns & Promotions Manager for TransPennine Express said: “These past few months have been difficult, life as we knew it changed dramatically in such a short space of time. We know that there have been some incredible individuals, and this is a great opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary work they have done.
“We’ve got some amazing prizes to give away including a short break in York with an overnight stay at Queen’s Hotel, tickets for York’s Chocolate Story and the chance to go to The Cookery School at The Grand.”
