Sally Edgar welcomed to Intro by directors Nick Turner and Helen Statham

A Cumbrian PR and social media agency is expanding with the appointment of a marketing manager to work with its growing list of clients.

Sally Edgar has joined Intro which has offices on Paternoster Row in Carlisle, having previously worked in digital marketing roles at Walby Farm Park, Newsquest and MediaCom.

Sally’s role will be to work closely with the agency’s clients who include the Cumberland Building Society, Lakes College, Stagecoach and Eden District Council.

Sally Edgar joins Intro

Sally said: “I’m very excited to have joined the team at Intro. It’s a fantastic agency, full of brilliantly creative and experienced people who are passionate about what they do. I’m looking forward to helping lead the team into the next phase; building upon their current success to create innovative campaigns, and get the best possible results for our clients.”

Intro now has nine members of staff and was launched nearly three years ago by journalist Nick Turner and social media specialist Helen Statham.

It has continued operating during the lockdown with its staff all working from home and logging in for twice-daily team meetings via Google Hangouts.

A big focus of its work in recent months has been on creating the 100 Thank Yous campaign for The Cumberland Building Society which saw people around the region receiving a unique piece of glassware in recognition of their work during the pandemic.

It also helped Lakes College get over 600 people to sign up for its online courses during lockdown.

Helen Statham, director of Intro, said: “We’re very excited to have Sally joining us to help lead the team. Her experience in digital and content marketing will be a big help in getting results for our clients.

“At Intro we have an emphasis on creative ideas – whether that’s attention-grabbing social media campaigns or more wacky ventures such as delivering bunches of flowers to dozens of businesses to promote a course.

“Sally’s already helping to come up with more exciting ways to promote the businesses we support.”

Sally, a former multimedia journalist and group head of content, has previously worked on clients such as The Co-operative, Expedia, Club Med, Tombola, Manchester Business School, Subaru, Vax, and Haven Holidays.

Intro provides a range of services including: PR; social media management; paid social media campaigns; photography and email newsletters.
