Starting a photography business during COVID-19

My name is Daniel Dockeray I graduated from the University of Cumbria this year where I was studying fine art photography it’s always been my ambition when I graduated to start my own photography business working as a fashion photographer with the hope of moving to London next year with the dream of one day working for vogue magazine.

On March 23rd when the country went into lockdown I was still studying at the University of Cumbria when Boris Johnson came on the news saying that the UK was going under lockdown closing down all of England this changed everything for a lot of people around the country, including me losing two jobs and having to cancel my university degree show and stopping a London gallery, I can’t go into detail how disappointed I was that I would be spending the last 3 months of my degree not been able to go into university or to be around my friends I felt like the unluckiest person in that moment, but I can imagine most of the country was feeling the same way.

This past two months after finishing my university degree I have put the gears in motion not letting COVID-19 stopping me from becoming a fashion photographer with one day moving to London. When as soon as the restrictions where lifted I picked my camera up and was back doing photo shoots doing something that I am passionate about.
