On Thursday 10th September at 12:00, The Drover’s Rest at Monkhill opens its doors after a 10 day closure.
The new licensees are Tom and Beki from the Middle Ruddings Country Inn at Braithwaite.
In the 10 years they spent at the Middle Ruddings the pub developed a well deserved reputation for a variety of real ales and good food.
An experience they will use to enhance the Drover’s renowned range and quality of real ale. In the 7 years that Sandy and Sarah ran the pub they served 1,254 different beers.
A mere tip of the iceberg when you realise that there are more than 30,000 real ales now available. This is a challenge that Tom and Beki will take up and with any luck they will exceed!
Food will also be a feature of building on the Drover’ reputation. Evening meals will be served and eventually Tom will be offering his home made beer inspired sausages throughout the day.
All in all the Drover’s is set to go from strength to strength as a focus for the local community.
