It’s been a challenging year for many, especially with lockdown during spring and early summer, but like many business owners Mark Whitehead, co-owner of Hawkshead Relish, was determined to make best use of the time.
Mark spent the intervening months developing and refining a range of new table sauces to sit alongside the company’s existing range of ketchups and sauces. Each new product has been carefully crafted to help spice up mealtimes with vibrant, colourful, and tasty flavour combinations, perfect for adding to casseroles, soups, or as an accompaniment to BBQed meats and fish.
The new products which include Smoky Mustard Sauce, Spiced Mango Ketchup, Hot Beetroot Ketchup and Posh Pickle Sauce. All are handmade in the English Lake District and will be available to buy online and at selected retailers across the UK from the 11th September.
Posh Pickle Sauce
This delicious sauce is packed with gherkins, dill, and onions; based on a traditional burger relish it’s perfectly balanced with seasoning and spices to create a lovely soft, yet moreish sauce. Fabulous with fresh fish or BBQed meats, including burgers, and sausages.
Spiced Mango Ketchup
This spiced mango ketchup is packed with an array of carefully roasted spices, which are freshly crafted for each batch and beautifully compliment the rich, fruity, soft mango. This delicious soft pouring ketchup is perfect for mixing with mayo to create a quick coronation sauce, as a tasty addition to sandwiches or as a dip. There’s a little chilli heat in the background of this fruity and spicy sauce, which will wake up your taste buds’ leaving a delicious warm aftertaste.
Smoky Mustard Sauce
This is a new mild, smooth Dijon style mustard with a subtle smoky taste, pop the lid and you can smell hot dogs! Perfect for adding to a variety of dishes, as well as a tasty accompaniment to sausages, burgers, and steaks and it’s also perfect for making vinaigrettes and sauces, making it a great all-rounder.
Hot Beetroot Ketchup
Earthy beetroot, with a little horseradish and a kick of chilli heat in this vibrant ketchup certainly packs a punch. It’s equally at home adding a depth of flavour to warming soups, spicing up griddled meats or as an accompaniment to fresh mackerel or smoked salmon.
Each condiment is lovingly crafted by the dedicated and passionate award-winning team at Hawkshead Relish in small batches, made without any artificial colourings, flavourings or preservatives and are gluten free, nut-free and are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
