Cumbrian company A.W. Jenkinson Forest Products has supported Penrith Lions Club to produce its Message in a Wallet cards.
The scheme, which was initiated before the COVID-19 pandemic, allows people to carry a credit-card size card displaying essential information that could help the Emergency Services in the event of an accident or sudden illness. As well as personal details, it also lists relevant illnesses, allergies, medication and contact addresses. Having instant access to this data allows the police or paramedics to concentrate on their core role at the site of an incident instead of wasting precious time gathering information about a patient.
A.W. Jenkinson Forest Products is the scheme’s main sponsor but Penrith Lions Club is also grateful for the support of local companies including Tim Roebuck Opticians, Atkinson Building Contractors and Cranstons.
Penrith Lions Message in a Wallet Coordinator John Yates said: “We really appreciate the support of A.W. Jenkinson Forest Products. Without their help, projects like this would not be possible. In a year where fundraising has taken a huge hit with cancellations of events such as Penrith Lions Clubs May Day Carnival, every donation helps.”
