Detectives are continuing their appeal for information following a robbery in Carlisle.

An investigation is underway after four men stole money from a woman, riding a mobility scooter, on St Nicholas Bridge yesterday (8 October) between 9.45am and 10.15am.

The victim, aged in her 50s, was uninjured following the incident.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or noticed four men acting suspiciously in the area. Descriptions of two of the men have been provided, they are:

A man, approximately 6ft tall, of stocky build with short brown hair. He was wearing a black tracksuit, a blue surgical face mask and black gloves.

A man, approximately 6ft tall, of slim build. He was wearing a blue tracksuit, a blue surgical face mask and black gloves.

Both suspects are described as having European accents.

Detective Sergeant James Aiston, North Crime and Safeguarding Team, said: “We are appealing for the public’s assistance in this investigation. While the victim was uninjured, this is clearly an incident which will have caused great distress.

“We would like to hear from any witnesses to the incident or from anyone who saw two men in the area matching the descriptions provided.

“Officers are conducting a number of enquiries and any assistance from the public would be gratefully received.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 51 of 8 October. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
