Aldi Deliveroo partnership

Shoppers in Carlisle can now have their favourite Aldi products delivered to their door in as little as 30 minutes as part of a new partnership with Deliveroo.

The Petteril Bank Road Aldi store will trial the new service, which will offer local residents a selection of around 400 Aldi products at their fingertips via the Deliveroo app. This will include a range of essential items, such as bread, milk and fresh produce, which will be picked and packed by Aldi colleagues for delivery by Deliveroo’s network of riders.

The new on-demand service has been introduced to offer customers greater flexibility and access to affordable Aldi groceries.

The trial was initially launched at 20 stores across London, Greater Manchester, Cambridge and the Midlands. If successful, the rapid delivery service could roll out to further Aldi stores by the end of 2020.

Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “We hope the new trial with Deliveroo will provide more customers in Carlisle with access to great quality food at Aldi’s unbeatable prices.

“This is a new and exciting venture for Aldi and we will be constantly reviewing how we can best serve our customers during these challenging times.”

Ajay Lakhwani, Vice President of New Business, Deliveroo said: “Deliveroo’s on-demand grocery partnerships have proven vital for so many people during this difficult period, allowing families to get the food and household items they need and want quickly. The fast expansion and success of this trial reflects the strong customer demand for groceries, an area in which Deliveroo is providing increasing choice. We are excited that even more customers across the country can now enjoy Aldi’s great quality food.”
