Appleby man arrested on suspicion of arson

Police are investigating an incident of arson that occurred in the early hours of 21st October on The Sands, Appleby.

Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service attended the location and extinguished the fire that was in a private dwelling.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “A 31-year-old man from Appleby was arrested on suspicion of arson and since been released under investigation.

“Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage in the area to please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact PC 2715 on 101, quoting incident number 6 of 21 October. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
