The Generation Game comes to Cumbria

Cumbria’s popular and quirky networking event LA23NET has been one of many in the county to take things online due to Covid-19 restrictions but is continuing to set itself apart from the usual zoom room setting by combining real-world interactivity.

The LA23NET networking events are run by unconventional events and PR company Flock and sponsored by The Cumberland, NXT Recruitment and Edwin Thompson, pre-Covid they usually welcome between fifty to hundred people to unusual spaces and places with top keynote speakers.

Having to go online hasn’t stopped the inventive organisers from making things different though and their Christmas networking event will be a wonderfully whacky online version of the retro Generation Game. Before the night all attendees will receive a box of goodies that will allow them to play along in real life, from balloon modelling through to the infamous conveyor belt round, as well as gifts to enjoy together on the night.

Flock co-founder Sophia Newton said: “Creating experiences that are shared together in real life, even though we are connecting virtually makes a huge difference. It also creates talking points for people and perhaps most importantly for business leaders right now, a little light relief.

“Covid-19 has had a huge impact on Cumbrian businesses and LA23NET has continued to bring the business community together, this Christmas, with so many office Christmas parties being cancelled we wanted to give people an excuse to relax and have fun too. We can’t wait to welcome everyone, and neither can our sponsors who have stepped up to be our brilliant bunch of Brucies!”

LA23NET The Generation Game takes place on Wednesday 9th December at 17:30-19:30, teams of up to six can be booked but individuals are welcome to book too as they will be allocated a friendly team to join. Tickets are £15+VAT and include interactive goody box. www.la23net.co.uk/when Get booking (and don’t forget your cuddly toy!).
