Two Carlisle based family businesses have forged a new partnership to offer proactive financial advice to local people who rent their homes.

Carlisle based financial planners, Stan Sherlock Associates, and leading lettings agency, Lettings Centre Carlisle, have recognised the importance of offering financial advice to tenants who may otherwise miss out.

Many people first experience professional financial advice when buying their first property, through the need to have adequate life and home insurance. They are then likely to receive regular financial reviews to help them plan and save for the future.

Financial advice and the need to protect their family, possessions and save for the future is equally important for those in the rental sector and Lettings Centre Carlisle will now offer their tenants the opportunity to meet one of Stan Sherlock Associates’ qualified, financial advisers.

Bobby Sherlock, Director and Practice Principle, Stan Sherlock Associates, said: “Getting the right advice, tailored to your personal needs and circumstances is vitally important. Those who rent their homes are often worried about what would happen to their partner and children if the unexpected were to happen. The right insurance cover could help pay the rent and bills to manage redundancy, a serious illness, an accident or even death. It’s designed to be there when you need it most and provide a financial safety net at times of crisis.”

Adrian Mason, Director, Lettings Centre Carlisle said: “We’re delighted to offer our tenants the opportunity to take advice from the experienced Stan Sherlock Associates team and hope that during these uncertain times they can achieve some peace of mind and greater financial security for the future.”

Emma Sherlock, Chief Operating Officer, said: “The expertise and experience of a financial adviser can help anyone in any circumstances find the right financial solutions for them. Getting the right level of cover can be more affordable than many people think and building a long-term relationship with a financial adviser can help everyone achieve their personal goals for the future. It’s never too early to act to protect your family and start saving for your retirement.”

In 2019, the insurance industry made record Individual Income Protection payments totalling £60.5 million for mental health alone and paid out more than £3 billion in life insurance claims.* The team at Stan Sherlock Associates aim to help Cumbria’s tenants get their share of the protection.
