Police investigate after wheelie bins set on fire in Barrow

Police are investigating after a number of wheelie bins were set alight in Barrow.

The incidents occurred on Sunderland Street, Penrith Place and Penrith Street around 10.30pm and 11.30pm on December 15.

The wheelie bins were set on fire in the alleyways behind the streets. 

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage in the vicinity of the above areas.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact PC 2925 on 101, quoting incident number 228 of 15 December.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Police have put out an appeal for information about a separate arson attack in the alley behind Carlisle Street on the same night. 

Two bins were set alight at around 11.30pm.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact PC 2672 on 101, quoting incident number 232 of 15th December.
