Police were called to a Cockermouth hotel to investigate a potential breach of COVID-19 regulations last night.
It had been reported that a group of more than 10 people had congregated in the Brewers Fayre restaurant, next to the Premier Inn on the A66 roundabout, from a Tier 4 area.
Officers attended and a spokesman for Cumbria police said: “Officers engaged with the individuals involved and it was established that they had travelled under one of the specified sporting exemptions for the night.”
