Oxenholme station

Rail services are operating again on the Lakes Line following a minor landslip in the Burneside area earlier this morning.

All rail services between Oxenholme and Windermere were suspended for several hours, but the line has now fully reopened and trains are running – though some delays can be expected until further notice.

Northern customers are advised to allow additional time for any journeys and to check ahead before travelling.

Chris Jackson, regional director at Northern, said: “I’d like to thank Network Rail for their quick response to this problem which has allowed us to return services to the line this morning.

“I’d also like to thank our customers in Cumbria for their patience and understanding while the line was assessed.”
