Man seriously injured after assault with brick in Barrow

A 19-year-old has been arrested and bailed after a man in his 40s was seriously injured after an assault with a brick in Barrow.

Police are investigating the incident, in an alley beside Corporation Terrace, which happened at around 4.45am yesterday.

The man was  taken to Furness General Hospital and later discharged.

A 19-year-old man from Barrow was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article. He has been released on police bail.
