Witness appeal after man assaulted by three men in Carlisle

Witnesses are being asked to come forward after reports that a man in his 20s was assaulted by three other men in Carlisle on Tuesday.

The incident was alleged to have happened at an address on Botcherby Avenue at about 5pm.

The men were described as wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered at the time of incident.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

On January 5, the address was burgled at around 5.30pm.

Entry was gained to the property through an unsecure door. It was reported that nothing was taken.

On this offence, a 22-year-old man from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He has been released on police bail.
