Businesses in Copeland hoping to maximise on their exporting potential are being invited to attend a virtual session hosted by the area’s MP and the Department for International Trade.

Trudy Harrison is encouraging business owners to register to attend the Parliamentary Export Programme’s first session on Friday March 26 at 11am.

The three webinars, hosted by Copeland’s MP in collaboration with the Department for International Trade, will run from the end of January to the end of March 2021, providing businesses with expert and tailored guidance on trading and opportunities after Brexit.

The first session, Free Trade Agreements and Exporting after Brexit, will focus on global opportunities for  SMEs, how exporting can help businesses become more profitable and resilient, as well as the the extensive support available from DIT’s network, both locally and in 114 countries around the world.

Panellists including a local experienced exporter, an International Trade Adviser and Export Finance expert will be on hand to provide the support and tools needed to export and grow businesses internationally.

Mrs Harrison said: “As the country navigates through the challenges of the pandemic, there is huge opportunity for businesses in Copeland to play a key role in rebuilding the economy by unleashing their trading potential.

“Copeland has world-class skills and products but needs help to access more worldwide markets and these webinars will help do just that.

“The sessions are open to all businesses, big and small, experienced exporters and those who are only just considering export for the first time and will help them to take full advantage of the new trade agreements across the world.

“Trade and investment is the key to unlocking Copeland’s economic potential and I look forward to businesses joining me for the first session in March.”
