Find out how an apprentice can help your business

Businesses can find out about the incentives and support available if they take on an apprentice at a webinar on Friday.

Kendal College is hosting the event, part of National Apprenticeship Week, on Friday.

The webinar will discuss how employers can access government incentive payments of up to £3,000 to recruit their future workforce and support post COVID-19 recovery.

There will also be practical advice on the range of apprenticeships available and how and when to recruit an apprentice.

Apprenticeship manager, Kelli Horner, said: “Kendal College are pleased to be getting ‘fired up’ to supporting National Apprenticeship Week.

“Following successful events with the local employers we work with including Cumbria County Council, Gilkes, Anord Mardix and English Lakes Hotels we look forward to sharing how investing in apprenticeships can help businesses boost productivity by bringing in new talent that quickly helps to grow their skills base.

“We will be answering questions about how we can help your business needs and can follow up with support from our dedicated apprenticeship team.”

The event is being organised by Anna Garrity, a business administration apprentice at the college.

She said: “I decided to do an apprenticeship because I felt like it was the right step to take towards learning new skills whilst working.

“This enabled me to build up real-work experience and learn on the job all at the same time.

“I have personally gained a lot from my apprenticeship. My confidence has grown, I have a lot more belief in myself than I previously did, and it has helped me to improve vital skills such as time management when managing my workload.”

The webinar will take place on Friday February 12 at 11.30am for 30 minutes, with an opportunity for questions and personalised advice after the event.

Employers can access the webinar on the day via Teams at www.kend.ac/apwb or visit www.kendal.ac.uk/webinar for more information
