Three people arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an incident in Carlisle on Sunday.

Police were called to St Ninians Road at around 11.25pm to a report that two local men, aged 31 and 27, were injured.

The 31-year-old man suffered stab wounds. The 27-year-old suffered serious injuries not believed to be life-changing.

The 31-year-old man was taken to hospital. He is in a stable condition.

A 27-year-old man a 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, all local, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

They remain in police custody.

A police cordon is in place at St Ninians Road footbridge, over the River Petteril, while investigations are conducted.

Anyone with information regarding this incident, who has yet to speak to police, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log number 237 of the 7th February, or call CrimeStoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
