A 13-year-old boy is being airlifted to hospital with suspected stab wounds following an alleged assault by two other teens in Barrow today.
He is described as in a serious but stable condition and is being taken hospital via helimed.
Police were called by the ambulance service at around 2.50pm today to Jarrow Street.
The 13-year-old boy sustained injuries believed to have been caused by a knife.
A 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.
There is an increased police presence and a cordon in place on Jarrow Street due to the ongoing investigation.
Cumbria police is urging any witnesses to come forward.
