Improvements have been made to Whitehaven train station’s car park.
It has been resurfaced and redesigned, to increase the number of parking spaces for passengers, including the addition of two more accessible bays.
Northern has also relined the car park to create safe walking routes and a pedestrian crossing.
A new waiting shelter has been installed, replacing a disused bicycle rack, while the other existing shelter has been modified to provide better protection from the elements.
The improvements at Whitehaven station is part of Northern’s wider programme of transformation across the rail network.
