Police identify man who died after West Tower Street collision

Great North Air Ambulance Service lands after a fatal collision on West Tower Street in Carlisle. March 1, 2021

A man who died following a fatal collision involving a white panel van and two pedestrians has been identified.

Terence Abson known as Terry, aged 62, of Lingside Crescent, Carlisle, was sadly pronounced dead after a collision on West Tower Street in Carlisle on Monday.

A family liaison officer has been appointed to support Mr Abson’s family.

The second pedestrian, a 56-year-old woman from Carlisle, was airlifted to hospital in Preston.

Her condition is described as serious but stable.

Officers were called to the collision at 12.56pm on March 1.

The police would like to thank all of those people who have already come forward with information to assist with their inquiries.
