Two teenagers have suffered serious injuries after a crash in West Cumbria.
Police were contacted at about 2.40am today to a single-car collision on the A5086, between Cleator and Egremont.
The car involved in the collision was a Ford Fiesta.
The two occupants of the car, two local men aged 17 and 18, were taken to the Cumberland Infirmary with serious injuries.
The road was closed while emergency services and recovery attended the scene. The road has since reopened.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: At 02.51am, two fire engines attended a road traffic collision on Woodend, Egremont.
“The incident involved one car and two casualties were released from the vehicle using holmatro cutting equipment, lighting, chocks and a spine board. Fire crews were in attendance for fifty minutes.”
