More acts to play music festival Solfest 2021 have been revealed after it was announced that it has been awarded £75,000 from the Government.
Utah Saints, DJ Hype, DJ Champion, and DJ Format, The Amazons, Melt Yourself Down and This Is The Kit, Hardwicke Circus and MyLittleBrother join the line-up in the dance tent and main stage respectively.
For the first time, Solfest will offer Thursday entertainment featuring Welsh comedy hip-hop band Goldie Lookin’ Chain, Sam & the Womp, Funke & the Two Tone Baby, Jeremiah Ferrari and many more.
The award-winning festival has already announced Razorlight, Basement Jaxx (DJ set), Maxïmo Park, Echo and the Bunnymen as acts lined up to play the event, which runs from Thursday August 26 to Sunday August 29.
It will take place at Solway Coast at North Lakes Country Park.
Organisers said ticket sales have already surpassed the previous five Solfest festivals, and with an expanded capacity of 10,000, the family music and arts festival is expected to sell out and be the biggest in nearly a decade.
Solfest has also been awarded its second Culture Recovery Fund grant of £75,000 to help the organisation recover and reopen.
It was previously awarded £100,000.
Sam Johnston, festival director, said: “This is our most ambitious and exciting event in the history of Solfest.
“With help from the Cultural Recovery Fund we received in November, and now the full amount we asked for in round two, we have been able to upgrade and expand the entire production for 2021.
“We would like to thank DCMS for awarding the grant to us, as with this, we can’t wait to bring you back to the fields, see you at Solfest!”
