Dr Helen Lawal joins Farrer’s sales manager and barista trainer Brian Williams

A Kendal tea and coffee merchants will hit the small screen on Friday as Food Unwrapped returns to Channel 4.

A film crew from the investigative series visited Kendal’s John Farrer & Co in November 2019 to talk to sales manager and barista trainer Brian Williams about espresso.

In the episode, which will be broadcast at 8pm, Dr Helen Lawal joins Brian, who shows her how to create the perfect espresso.

He said: “‘It was great to be able to share some of our knowledge with Helen and explain the stages involved in crafting the perfect coffee.

“Hopefully, people will see the factors that contribute to making a great espresso – the beans, the roast, the machine and the barista all playing their part.

“We tried, between us, to demystified some of the jargon used in coffee culture – hoping to show viewers what they should expect from a great cup of coffee, every time.’’
