A Cumbrian fitness professional is to star in the upcoming series of SAS Who Dares Wins.

Tyler Clark of Carlisle was selected last year to take part in the momentous and enduring challenge, which was filmed in September.

The show’s contestants are put to the test by ex-special forces soldiers in the ultimate test of their physical and psychological resilience.

The Channel 4 show, which is said to be one of the most strenuous TV competitions, is hosted by Ant Middleton and his team who are well known for their ‘no nonsense’ approach, but Carlisle’s Tyler says competing in the show has been life-changing.

“My experience on the show has to be one of the most life-changing experiences I have been through,” she said.

“It pushed me beyond both my mental and physical limits, but it’s really helped me to understand so much about myself.

“The show has to be my ultimate journey of self-discovery, from both a mental and physical aspect. It has taught me transferable skills that I can use in everyday life, and also how to be in complete control of my thoughts, fears and emotions.

“It’s a personal journey that I will cherish for the rest of my life. The things I have learnt not just about myself, but also what the special forces do to protect our country are influential and inspires me daily.

“I have been given the opportunity to learn both mental and physical tools that I can use for the rest of my life. I feel I have grown as a person and for that, I will be forever thankful.”

The sixth series will see 21 men and women recruits head into Raasay which is a Scottish Island, situated 25 minutes away from Skye.

Tyler, who is 28 is a personal trainer and a champion bodybuilder who has won various national awards for her physique and commitment to fitness and the sport, her most recent being first place in the 2Bros Class D Figure, just a couple of weeks ago.

The brand-new series of SAS Who Dares Wins will be aired every Sunday evening for six weeks starting on May 9 at 9pm on Channel 4.
