Staff and residents at a Workington care home have been celebrating as lockdown restrictions ease and they were able to go no a day trip.
Residents of Newlands care home visited Keswick on a long-awaited trip – the first time they could go out without having to self-isolate on their return.
Kim Whelan, general manager, said: “It is absolutely wonderful to be able to take our residents out for trips again. We have all been waiting for this day and we are so thankful it is finally here.
“Our residents have enjoyed all sorts of different entertainment during lockdown but nothing beats some fresh air and a change of scenery to blow away the cobwebs.”
Newlands is run by Barchester Healthcare.
