The collision happened at the New Bridge Road roundabout, near the Travelodge hotel, at around 11am.

A pedestrian has been airlifted to hospital after a collision with a car.

Emergency services were called to New Bridge Road roundabout in Workington, near the Travelodge hotel, at about 11am.

A spokesman for the Great North Air Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian. We airlifted a patient to hospital after treatment on-scene.

“We were mobile at 11.28am. We were in the area at the time so we were on-scene in six minutes.”

The injuries suffered are not believed to be life-threatening.
