Visitors are advised to avoid the Wasdale area as all car parks are full.
Emergency services attended a one vehicle collision earlier today and police said they were unable to gain full access to the area due to an excess number of cars.
A post on Facebook from Cumbria police said: “National trust wardens are reporting that all the car parks in the area are full and for people to not attend the area as there is nowhere safe to park.
“Emergency services were unable to gain full access to the area due to parking of vehicles in non-designated areas.”
