Young dancers are invited to events to find out more about a prestigious North West training scheme.
On Saturday, dancers aged 11 to 16 and their families can attend Newbiggin Hall in Carlisle or the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal to find out more about The Lowry’s Centre for Advanced Training in Dance.
Attendees will be able to speak to tutors and students from the scheme – which offers fully funded places – and also take part in a workshop.
Young people who decide they would like to try out for a place on the scheme, which is the only one in the North West, can pick up an application form, ahead of auditions on Sunday June 27.
The Centre for Advanced Training in Dance at Greater Manchester’s flagship The Lowry arts centre is an intensive, part time, training programme for exceptional young people who aim to pursue a career in dance.
It is one of 10 nationwide centres of excellence for dance funded by the Department for Education, and means tested grants are available.
Young dancers who are unable to attend on Saturday June 12 are invited to an online open evening via Zoom on Friday June 18.
The open days are free to attend, but places must be booked in advance via The Lowry box office. Call 0843 208 6000.
