Work is set to start on a new cycle pump track – suitable for youngers users and beginners on a variety of bikes and scooters.
Construction work on the Dale End Field, Harraby track will start on Monday and will take about 10 days to complete.
Funded by Cumbria Waste Management Environment Trust, the track work will include installing new land drainage and installing the track alongside seating. Perimeter fencing will also be installed at a later date.
The contractor, working on Carlisle City Council’s behalf, will be installing a new self-closing gate in readiness for the new fencing. This will result in the presence of a stand-alone gate with no fencing for some time.
Cllr Elizabeth Mallinson, portfolio holder for health and wellbeing said: “The new track is one of many new improvements we are making to our open spaces. We hope the site is welcomed by the local community and hope to see the works completed soon.”
