A 68-year-old man died following a collision in South Cumbria on Saturday.
The man, Peter Jones, of Bolton, Greater Manchester, was killed following the single vehicle collision at Newby Bridge on the A590 at around 3.10pm.
The incident involved a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which Mr Jones was driving.
Police have confirmed that, despite medical intervention, Mr Jones died at the scene.
The passenger, a woman in her 60s, was uninjured.
The road was closed for several hours while emergency services attended the incident and traffic was diverted.
It is understood that the air ambulance attended.
