Cumbria Business Growth Hub is teaming up with Sellafield for an online event offering expert advice for the county’s supply chain businesses.
John Berry, the plant’s senior supply chain manager, will provide guidance around where to look for opportunities and the type of capabilities Sellafield are looking for.
This will be accompanied by a live case study from a Cumbrian SME highlighting their experience of winning work in the Sellafield Ltd supply chain.
“As one of the major employers in Cumbria, Sellafield Ltd is keen to educate the business community about how to access opportunities in our supply chain,” John said.
“We are looking for suppliers who can help us deliver our mission safer, faster and with added value. I look forward to engaging with the wide range of innovative SMEs through this Cumbria Business Growth Hub event.”
As part of the event, which takes place on July 13, businesses will also hear more about the supply chain support offered free through Cumbria Business Growth Hub, including support from supply chain advisers, free workshops, and a part-funded subsidy to help with costs towards accreditations such as ISO as well as other specialist consultancy support.
Suzanne Caldwell, managing director of Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, said: “Over the next few months we’ll be developing a programme of opportunities including advertising open tenders on our growth hub website, running specific supply chain workshops, organising more events similar to the one we’re running with Sellafield Ltd and updating the supply chain section of the growth hub website with podcasts and other helpful resources.”
