A Cumbrian care company has appointed a new training manager at its Workington office.

Bellcare has appointed Jacqui Jewell, who was previously training advisor.

She said: “I have worked in the care sector for most of my life in various roles gaining a wealth of experience and knowledge not only as a trainer but as a nurse and a senior support worker. I’m enthusiastic about both training and learning and have always wanted to share this enthusiasm with others.

“I’m looking forward to the new role and future ahead, particularly as we see our workforce expand.”

Bellcare’s registered manager Debbie Ellwood said: “We have seen demand for our services soar in the last 12 months combined with the complex needs of our clients, the initial training we provide for new employees is paramount more so than ever.

“We take great pride in our workforce and how we train staff in the early days is key to the delivery of our care services to the elderly and those who aren’t very well in our area.

“As our recruitment of health care workers across North and West Cumbria ramps up, we could see the need to appoint someone like Jacqui as our designated training manager.”
