Lifeboat volunteers have been called out to three incidents in three days, including one rescue where a patient was taken to hospital.
Yesterday, Workington RNLI was called to reports of two people in the water near the Coastguard lookout station.
Workington RNLI launched its inshore rescue boat, John F Mortimer, and found one person in the water, who they recovered and returned with them to the station.
Care was administered by the crew until paramedics from North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust arrived to continue the medical care and transport the casualty to hospital.
The second person was found by Cumbria police.
Also in attendance were Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team and Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team.
Earlier that day, the crew was asked to go to the assistance of a 26ft yacht with engine failure, a mile north of the station.

All weather lifeboat Brianne Addington, which is a relief vessel for the station’s Dorothy May White, attended and towed the yacht, with a crew of one, back to Workington.
The lifeboat and yacht were met by members of Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team.
On Monday, the crew was called out to help the police with a missing person search between the coast of Whitehaven and Workington. No one was found.
Tim Chittenden, lifeboat operations manager for Workington RNLI, said: “It goes without saying that I am very proud of the way the team responded to these three very different callouts, which reflect the highest traditions of the RNLI being ready at a moment’s notice, 365 days a year to launch a lifeboat in support of our mission, which is saving lives at sea.”
