The Hound Trailing Association will host one of the season’s prestigious meetings tomorrow at Sandale Heights.
Winning the Dog Produce is what every handler would like on their CV and there’s likely to be strong competition for the honour of claiming a top puppy title.
A number of likely contenders had the opportunity of running over the course at a meeting there on Monday when Huntsman’s Que led themhome.
He beat Thorne Belle who had actually shown her ability by winning the Bitch Produce title at Newlands three weeks ago.
Huntsman’s Que is from the hugely successful Patterdale kennel of the Bland family and is likely to start favourite for the big trail.
But there have been some surprises in recent years and his three kennel mates Huntsman’s Quantum, Huntsman’s Quartz and Huntsman’s Querk could all be contenders.
It’s a six-trail meeting with the Dog Produce slipped at 3.15pm and the action starts at 1pm with the seniors.
