Both Higson Cup semi-finals dominate the Cumbria League programme this weekend.
Both should be cracking contests with the losers of recent confrontations having something to prove.
In a clash between two of the League’s current top three sides Furness host Carlisle and five weeks ago the south Cumbrians lost a thriller at Edenside by one run off the last ball of the game.
In the other tie, Cockermouth entertain Workington mindful of the fact that only last Friday they lost a T20 game to their opponents at Sandair.
Going into Saturday’s League games Furness lead Carlisle by four points at the top of the Premier Division.
Carlisle will expect to put on the pressure as they host bottom side Dalton while Furness have a tougher south Cumbrian clash at home to Millom.
Keswick moved second in the table when they caught-up on a Covid-postponed game at Whitehaven by virtue of a three wicket win with two balls to spare.
On Saturday it’s the return game at Keswick while fourth-placed Cockermouth still have their catch-up game to play at home to Lindal.
They travel to Lindal on Saturday when the other games are:
- Haverigg v Cleator
- Workington v Wigton
