Emergency services were called to Devil’s Bridge after reports of someone in distress in the river.
The fire service and air ambulance were called to the incident at around 6.35pm yesterday.
Three fire engines attended and the casualty was rescued by fire crews.
They were given into the care of the air ambulance crew.
Their condition is unknown.
