Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL champions Distington were shocked by Seaton last night and crashed to a 27-14 defeat.
There had been an indication in the first-half that Distington wouldn’t have things all their own way as the two sides turned round all square at 12-12.
But after the resumption it was Seaton who upped the pace and produced an outstanding performance which did not bring the expected response from the Premier Division champions.
The Seaton tries came from Tom Dover, man of the match Cieran Walker, Grant Reid and Johnny Dodd with Walker adding five goals and a field goal.
A subdued Distington replied with two tries by Jack Penrice and three goals from their man of the match Scott George.
There was also a battle of the A teams in which Wath Brow overcame Kells 8-4 every bit as tight as the score-line suggests.

Not a goal was kicked as Joe Power and Luke Davison scored tries for the Brow with Sam Cameron responding for Kells. It was 4-4 at half-time.
Only one Premier Division game was planned tomorrow, between Wath Brow A and Ellenborough but that has been called-off because of Covid. So too has the Division One game – Lowca v Hensingham.
Still on though in Division One are: Cockermouth v Maryport and Aspatria v Seaton A.
There should also be a full fixture list in the National Conference Cumbria regional competition as Hensingham v Barrow Island; Kells v Millom and Wath Brow v Egremont go ahead.
