
Bookings are now open for Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership’s remote annual general meeting.
For the second year running, the meeting – which is open to members of the public – will be held via videoconference due to COVID restrictions and to make it easier for as many people as possible to attend.
LEP chair Lord Inglewood said: “It has been another extremely challenging year for all of us within Cumbria and we at the LEP have been at the forefront of the fight against the economic consequences of COVID-19.
“I’m very proud of the way that our board and staff have worked with our partners to respond to the challenges. Our business partners and public and third sector colleagues have worked tirelessly and in a spirit of co-operation to develop a plan for recovery.”
Lord Inglewood, board members and the LEP’s chief executive will outline the key activities delivered over the past 12 months and the priorities for the remainder of 2020/21.
Deputy chair Steve Cole, chief infrastructure officer at BAE Systems Marine Ltd, will update attendees on the LEP’s investments, while Nigel Wilkinson, Windermere Lake Cruises managing director and chair of the LEP’s finance, audit and resources committee, will present the annual accounts
“Attendees at the AGM will have the chance to hear all about the collaborative work that’s been done to restart, rethink and reboot our economy and how we are looking to take this work forward,” said Lord Inglewood.,
The meeting will take place between 2pm and 4pm on Friday, September 24.
