Young people are invited to join a free programme for budding creatives to work alongside professionals to gain practical experience within the film and TV industry.
Signal Film and Media’s Youth Collective is designed to help youngsters who want to follow a career path in the creative industries.
Young people will learn skills in cameraless photography, projection mapping, and filmmaking, as well as meeting like-minded individuals interested in film, television, gaming and art.
Signal’s Youth Collective programme has been running since May.
From next month, the programme will return, initially allowing the students to work closely alongside Signal’s West Coast Photo Festival, with the chance to make a mini documentary.
The sessions run fortnightly on Tuesdays in three-month blocks, with the first session beginning on Tuesday September 7 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, either in person at Cooke’s Studios, 104 Abbey Road, Barrow, LA14 5QR, or online, in accordance with government COVID-19 guidelines.
The course is for anyone aged between 16 and 20 years old, or up to 25 for those with learning disabilities and difficulties or those with special educational needs.
