Up to £4,000 is on offer to help community buildings in South Cumbria become more energy efficient.
Groups within a 30-mile radius of Thrive Renewables’ Haverigg II wind farm can apply for a grant from the firm’s £30,000 national community benefit programme.
The grants can be used for insulation, draught-proofing and improved heating at buildings including village halls and community centres.
Expert advice on zero-cost solutions is also offered as part of the scheme.
Matthew Clayton, managing director of Thrive Renewables, said: “It is important that we support the people and groups that host our sites, allowing them to make improvements to important social hubs, many of which are cold, draughty and expensive to run.”
Thrive awarded Kirksanton Village Hall £3,000 in 2018 to install LED lighting, water heaters and insulation for water pipes.
Applications are open until September 19 and applicants must complete a full energy survey of the building.
