
A Scottish man has been charged after a vehicle he was travelling in was stopped with more than 2kg of cocaine and £2,000 cash inside.
The vehicle was stopped near Carlisle on July 8 by detectives from Cumbria police’s Cumberland’s Community and Serious Organised Crime team.
Police searched the vehicle and found the 2kg of cocaine, with a street value of around £160,000. Over £2,000 in cash was also recovered.
Grant Robertson, 49, of Hillcrest, Fife, was charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of criminal property.
He was also charged with driving while disqualified and with no insurance.
He appeared before Carlisle Magistrates Court on July 9 and was remanded into custody.
