A familiar face at a Cumbrian financial management firm has retired after more than 30 years.

Chris Binks, who lives in Appleby, worked for Financial Management Bureau, in Kendal, for 32 years in its client services department, most recently as client services supervisor.

Chris, 62, who retired at the beginning of September, said she would miss her fellow colleagues and dealing with customers.

“FMB has always had a really good family feel and it’s been a great place to work over the years,” said Chris.

““I will definitely miss seeing my work colleagues each day, but also the satisfaction of helping our customers and doing a job I genuinely enjoy.

“When you work for a company like FMB people put their life savings and their whole prospect of retirement and financial security in your hands and you build long-term relationships and a lot of trust.”

Managing director Liz Beavis said Chris had always been a loyal and positive member of its team, well known for her fashion sense and sharp wit.

Liz said: “We have loved having Chris on the team all these years and she will be sorely missed, but we know she will enjoy the freedom to spend time with her family and travel more with husband Steve.”
