A volunteer doctor has cut the ribbon on a new takeaway in Frizington.
The Beep Doctors, who carry out lifesaving emergency medical care to people involved in serious accidents or incidents in Cumbria, is raising funds to provide equipment for its new doctors.
Theo Weston, who is one of 16 volunteer BEEP Doctors, proudly cut the ribbon last Monday.
Pasta Delight is owned by Matthew Hooper and his partner Elaine Atkinson who know just how important the emergency service is to people. Matthew contracted COVID-19 this year whilst getting his new premises ready and had to be taken into hospital to help him breathe.
Matthew says he owes his life to the “brilliant” team of nurses and doctors at West Cumberland Hospital. “Organisations like Beep Doctors really need all the support they can get,” he said.
“They do a fantastic job and any one of us may need their help in the future.”
Matthew is offering discounts for all emergency services and will have donation boxes inside the takeaway for the Beep Doctors. He thanked West Cumbria Missing Persons and Animal Search and Rescue for their support.
