A networking group which is aiming to generate more than £1 million of business in a year is to host a free event for businesses.

The event on November 10 will be an opportunity for businesses in the area to learn more about the Kendal Chapter of BNI® (Business Network International), a professional networking organisation, where members meet weekly and help each other to find new business by making referrals.

The Kendal Chapter, which is currently meeting online, has members representing a range of businesses. They include an architect, builder, marketing expert, electrical contractor, solicitor, stonemason and planning consultant.

In the past 12 months, the Kendal Chapter has generated more than £885,000 worth of invoiced business through referrals between its members and its aim is to reach £1 million in a year within a few months.

“We are keen for businesses and organisations to learn more about Kendal BNI and the tremendous benefits it brings to its members,” said Kendal BNI vice-president John Sherlock.

“Networking is a great way for people to increase the number of their contacts and the amount of business they do. The fact many of our members have been in the group for several years shows that being a part of the group helps them boost their revenues and profits.”

He added there was also a strong social side too. “Although we are primarily a business group, we also organise formal and informal social events,” he said.

“Networking works for established firms and is also extremely valuable for new, start-up businesses which are wanting to generate new contacts. Kendal BNI includes representatives from a range of companies and, of course, all the members know scores of other people across a wide range of sectors.”

The online ‘Visitor Day’ on Wednesday, November 10, will last for about two hours. It is free to attend and those doing so will be given the opportunity to tell everyone present a little about their own business.

Anyone who is interested in attending the visitor day should contact John Sherlock at [email protected]
