A man and a teenager will be sentenced next month after admitting their roles in a north Cumbria affray.
Paul James Oley, 41, and 19-year-old Harvey Jackie William Oliver appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today.
Both pleaded guilty to one charge of affray having used or threatened unlawful violence towards another with their conduct, taken together, being such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for their personal safety.
Their criminal conduct took place in Brampton on July 17 last year.
Judge Nicholas Barker adjourned the case, asking for the probation service to prepare pre-sentence reports on both Oley, of Old Mill, Alston, and Oliver, of Townfoot Park, Brampton.
The pair are due to be sentenced at the crown court on November 5, and will be on conditional bail in the meantime.
- No evidence was offered against a third defendant, Carl Jan Oliver, aged 46, who had denied a single charge alleging witness intimidation and was also present at the hearing. Judge Barker directed that a verdict of not guilty should be entered, and told Mr Oliver he could leave the court.
