A South Cumbrian tech firm has been shortlisted for a national award.

Majik House, in Gatebeck, near Kendal, installed a raft of smart technology in the luxurious Absoluxe Suites in Kirkby Lonsdale.

It is one of five firms shortlisted for the Best In Tech award in the Brit List Awards, which aims to recognise leading interior designers, architects, hoteliers, and brands.

Designer Sally Proctor, who works with Majik House, has also been nominated in the Interior Designer of The Year category for work undertaken on a number of recent projects, including Absoluxe Suites.

Carol Burrow, co-owner and director of Majik House, said: ‘’We are hugely thrilled that Sally’s work with us on several recent projects has been recognised and we’re really excited that she’s got an opportunity to attend the event with us.

“What’s more we are over the moon that the work we do at Majik House has been recognised too, especially the work we did on Absoluxe Suites which has proven to be a real showcase for what we do. Now it’s a case of waiting to see how we do and hoping we can do Cumbria proud – wish us luck!‘’

The awards ceremony takes place on November 3 in London.
